For over a decade, the House Howlers have been entertaining audiences in the national capital and on national radio with their laugh out loud brand of political satire. Formed back in the days when John Howard was camped (occasionally) in the Lodge, the Howlers are a motley crew of journalists from the Parliamentary Press Gallery – plus a few of the city’s more soulful crooners. They have taken the mickey out of Howard, Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard, Barnaby Joyce, Tim Fischer, Peter Reith, Peter Garrett, Peter Costello, Malcolm Turnbull – even Bill Heffernan! And they ain’t finished yet. Their biting satire spares no issue or ego as they drag you tunefully across the political landscape – all the time in multi-part harmony.
