Ben Self, will reveal the behind-the-scenes story of Obama’s electoral victory.

Barack Obama retained BSD to manage the online fundraising, constituency-building, issue advocacy, and peer-to-peer online networking aspects of his 2008 Presidential primary campaign. The campaign used BSD’s online and mobile tools to mobilise over three million donors to contribute over $500 million online, to motivate over two million social networking participants and to create and promote more than 200,000 events across the United States.

According to Peter Coroneos, Chief Executive of the Internet Industry Association, it signals a monumental change. “The future of political campaigning, and indeed politics itself, has been irreversibly transformed by this campaign. We have witnessed a shift in the balance of power back to individuals. It is a shift that no politician, business executive or communication professional can afford to ignore”, Coroneos said.
