Premier of New South Wales
February 11, 2011
"Address to the National Press Club"
Kristina Keneally MP is the NSW Premier and Minister for Redfern Waterloo. She has previously held the portfolios of Planning, Infrastructure, Ageing and Disability Services and was the Government spokesperson for World Youth Day 2008.
Prior to her election in to Parliament in 2003 she was a stay-at-home mum to her sons Daniel and Brendan and active in several community organisations in the South Sydney and Botany Bay area.
Kristina’s three passions in life are social justice, the importance of community and living life with energy and enthusiasm. Before entering Parliament she worked as the State Youth Coordinator for the NSW Society of St. Vincent de Paul and taught primary school in a ‘teacher shortage area’ in rural New Mexico. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Hons) in 1991 and a Master of Arts in Religious Studies in 1995.
