"The Government's Undoing - The Andrew Wilkie Pokie Plan"
EVENT SOLD OUT PLESE CONTACT US FOR WAITLIST npc@npc.org.au
A deal, struck in the immediate aftermath of the federal election, requires the Federal Government to override State and Territory control on poker machines in order to retain the support of Tasmanian Independent MPC Andrew Wilke.
The deal would mean that Australia's 5 million annual poker machine palyers will need a license to gamble.
Mr Wilke has said that if his deal is not implemented, he will bring down the Gillard Government.
President of ClubsAustralia Peter Newell OAM will outline why the reforms cannot be implemented as the Prime Minister has promised and why they should not be implemented. He will also flag the upcoming launch of a hard-hitting campaign by clubs and pubs against the ill-conceived deal.
