"Doing breast cancer research costs a fortune ....not doing it costs more"
Sarah Murdoch has been actively supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation since 1997 first as the international ambassador for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer and since 2001 as the Patron of NBCF. Sarah is passionate about contributing to her community recognising that she has enjoyed a wonderful life and that she can use her profile and position to influence government, business and individuals to contribute to the best quality Australian research.
In her presentation Sarah will discuss the advancements NBCF has achieved in the last two years particularly in progressing the National Action Plan for Breast Cancer Research and Funding; she will announce a new funding initiative that will position Australia on the world stage and launch a profile on the NBCF achievements over the last decade.
The address to the National Press Club will launch Breast Cancer Month ahead of the annual Estee Lauder Global Illumination gala dinner in Canberra where the Old and Parliament Houses will be illuminated Pink to herald the commencement of the annual Pink Ribbon campaign.
