Tony Haley - The One Man Rat Pack

Known affectionately as ‘Australia’s Ole Blue Eyes’, Tony Haley performs the songs of Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Johnny Cash, Bobby Darin and many others, with consummate style and charm.

Tony began in music in the late 70’s as guitarist, sax player and vocalist in rock & roll band Eddy Haley and The Starliters. Through the 1980s and 1990s he continued in a similar vein with ‘irreverent rock band’ the Zarsoff Brothers and rockabilly/swing bands the Eddys, The Comets and Indigo Stomp.

In the late 80’s The Eddys teamed up with LRB vocalist Glenn Shorrock and toured the country in a series of successful stage shows. With The Eddys, Tony performed at two Grand Prix Balls, the America’s Cup Ball, the opening of Sanctuary Cove and countless corporate functions throughout Australia and South East Asia. They also performed on the Ray Martin Show, the Don Lane Show, the Bert Newton Show and a couple of times on Hey Hey It’s Saturday. Tony also played with Doug Parkinson in his Buddy Holly Show spin off.

These days he sings with pianist John Black and his trio, and with the 18 piece Connexion Big Band, and the just as big, Blamey Street Big Band.

Tony’s cabaret work lately has him performing with Andrew Leonard in their ‘Ratbags’ tribute to the Ratpack and with Annie Sloane in ‘The Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee Show’.

He is also working with local vocalist Julie Gilmore, showcasing the songs of Frank and Nancy Sinatra, and has just started his third year of performing Thursday nights at The Statesman Hotel in Canberra.
