Australia is the most diverse and successful multicultural democracy in the world. Our focus on migrant integration and the adoption of unifying Australian values has undoubtedly made Australia stronger and more prosperous. However, our unique model of social cohesion is facing new and disparate challenges. Now is the time to focus on the things we can do to keep Australians together and build upon our success.


Alan Tudge is the Federal Member for Aston in Victoria and is the Minister for Population, Cities and Urban Infrastructure and acting Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs. He has previously served as Minister for Human Services and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister. Before entering parliament, Alan spent most of his career in business including with the Boston Consulting Group in Australia and the United States, and worked as a senior adviser to the Foreign Minister and Education Minister. He holds a law degree and arts degree from Melbourne University and an MBA from Harvard University.
