Turia Pitt on doing the impossible

Wednesday, 14 July 2021

National Press Club of Australia

Ten years ago, Turia Pitt was trapped by an out-of-control grassfire during an ultramarathon in the Kimberly. She received burns to 65% of her body, spent six months in gruelling rehabilitation, and was told she'd never run again.
But Turia is not one to take no for an answer. She's since crossed the finish line at the Ironman World Championships, written four bestselling books, coached more than 40,000 people in her online programs, completed the Kokoda Trek, helped raise over $1 million for charity and had two sons with her partner Michael.
In her National Press Club debut, Turia will share her thoughts on how having vulnerability in the way we tell our stories can lead to social and political change.
