Kate Ellis is the Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Education and Development, and Shadow Minister for TAFE and Vocational Education.

Kate has played a key role in the development and implementation of important early childhood education reforms in Australia, including the National Quality Framework, the Early Years Learning Framework, the Australian Early Development Census and Universal Access to Preschool.

For more than three years now, public debate and discussion on early education and care has focused on the Government’s proposed changes. The debate has been focused on administrative detail rather than long-term vision.
