Professor Lisa Harvey-Smith is an award-winning astronomer, a presenter of the popular ABC television show Stargazing Live and author of When Galaxies Collide and Under the Stars: Astrophysics for Bedtime. She is a Professor of Practice at the University of New South Wales and the Australian Government’s Women in STEM Ambassador. She previously worked on the mega-telescope project The Square Kilometre Array – a continent-spanning next-generation radio telescope that will survey billions of years of cosmic history. Lisa is a TEDx speaker, a regular science commentator on TV and radio has toured Australia with her live show ‘When Galaxies Collide’.
