The Hon Ed Husic MP

Federal Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic addresses the National Press Club as part of Science and Technology Australia’s annual Science Meets Parliament series on the importance of science for the Albanese Government. As Minister for Science, Minister Husic is responsible for domestic and international science policy settings and oversight of Australia’s flagship science agencies. Since becoming Minister for Science, Minister Husic has initiated the revitalisation of Australia’s national science and research priorities, an evaluation of diversity in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) programs to ensure they are effective in widening STEM talent pipelines, and investments in international science diplomacy. In this press club address, he will outline the essential role science plays across Australian society, celebrate the achievements of Australia’s science community and set out a vision for science under the Albanese government.
